A visually striking Aboriginal Jukurrpa (Dreaming) painting by sisters Andrea and Kathleen Martin Nungarrayi, both affiliated with Warlukurlangu Artists of Yuendumu — the celebrated Aboriginal-owned art cooperative in the Northern Territory of Central Australia. Executed in the Western Desert dot-painting tradition, the composition layers concentric circles, ancestral tracks, and totemic symbols across a densely worked surface of ochre, burnt orange, and deep burgundy, with crisp white linework providing luminous contrast. A central totemic figure anchors the narrative field, surrounded by radiating dot-work of extraordinary density and precision. The dark brown wood frame is scored for texture, complementing the painting’s earthy palette. A work of genuine cultural depth and bold decorative presence. Provenance: Acquired 1994 by collector Richard Kelton, Santa Monica, CA, directly from Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation. Original catalog number: 231/94.
