The chairs are upholstered throughout in deeply grained black Edelman leather, pebbled in texture and consistent in color. Brass nailhead trim runs in closely spaced rows along the apron, back panel, and arm joins. The nailheads read in a warm antique brass tone that holds its own against the near-matte black of the leather without competing for attention.

The architectural frames have been refinished in high-gloss black lacquer, its surface providing a deliberate contrast to the tactile grain of the upholstery. Legs terminate in brass sabots that repeat the warm metal note of the nailheads and anchor the overall composition.
