Designed in 1955 for Heritage Henredon, this pair of Taliesin low cocktail tables exemplifies Frank Lloyd Wright’s disciplined geometric vocabulary translated into furniture form. Produced as part of the celebrated Taliesin line, the design reflects Wright’s emphasis on strong horizontality, modular proportion, and integrated ornament.
Each table features a square mahogany top with a crisply carved Greek key motif running continuously along the beveled apron edge — a signature decorative detail derived from Wright’s architectural language. The rhythmic carving reinforces the tables’ architectural clarity while adding subtle visual texture.
The pedestal bases are architecturally scaled and constructed with hollow box interiors, providing substantial visual presence without excessive weight. The rich mahogany grain throughout enhances the sculptural simplicity of the form.
Each table retains its original Heritage Henredon stamp along with a Frank Lloyd Wright facsimile signature to the underside. Minor, age-appropriate wear including a small loss to the carved edge of one table. The area is discreet and does not detract from the architectural impact of the pair.
Architectural yet versatile, these Taliesin low cocktail tables offer collectors and designers an opportunity to incorporate an iconic mid-century collaboration into both modern and period interiors.
